Girls Gone Strong

"A Movement Considered The Gold Standard For Training Pre & Post Natal Women"

Girls Gone Strong is a movement dedicated to women’s health, strength and empowerment. Built off the back of 300+ years of combined practical and clinical experience, GGS created the most comprehensive, evidence based and interdisciplinary Pre & Post Natal coaching certification in the world.

We are proud to support the GGS movement and qualify our team through their comprehensive university-level course, delivered by some of the leading researchers in the field, including PhDs, pelvic health physiotherapists, pre- and postnatal fitness experts, OB/GYNs, midwives, psychologists and doulas.

No matter what stage of development you are at, you can be reassured that you'll be guided safely through your training whilst pregnant and recovery postpartum.

Training Safely Through Pregnancy

The importance of understanding the anatomical, physiological and psychological changes that women undergo during every stage of pregnancy, up to, during and after birth cannot be overestimated. No matter what stage you are at in your pregnancy, the guidance of our experienced team and lead Pre/ Post Natal Specialist, Tanya, will ensure you are able to train safely through out, while following the most up-to-date recommended guidelines.

Training safely during pregnancy is a worry for many. For some it is a need to get fitter and healthier to prepare for late pregnancy and birth (but reading misleading information about starting exercise regimes while pregnant can be off-putting) and for others it's about gaining an understanding of how to adapt training to keep it progressive but safe during pregnancy.

We have our own step-by-step process in place, built around the latest guidelines recommended by Girls Gone Strong. We will always make sure we get clearance from your healthcare provider if your pregnancy is higher risk and can keep in regular contact with them where needed to ensure we are following all of the professional advice available to us.

Training Safely After Pregnancy And Birth.

At the FARM we recognise that getting back to exercise after a pregnancy can be daunting, but our Post Natal Fitness Specialist, Tanya, is highly trained to help you start the process safely, gently and in accordance with the most up to date recommendations and research.

Tanya holds the world-renowned Girls Gone Strong Pre & Postnatal Coaching certification; the most up-to-date, continually evolving, evidence-based PPN qualification available to trainers in the world. She is also a mum herself so understanding of the physiological and psychological changes that women undergo during pregnancy, birth and beyond as well as the challenges faced by new parents returning to fitness.

Whether you are a seasoned athlete or this is the very beginning of your fitness journey it is important to choose a trainer who has a sound understanding of the postnatal body, birth complications and the necessary adaptations needed to begin training without doing harm. A good trainer will also know when it is necessary to refer you to a pelvic health physiotherapist and/or work alongside your other healthcare professionals to help you overcome any issues.

This is not about 'bouncing back into shape' or 'regaining your pre-pregnancy body'. Some of the physical and mental changes may be ongoing or even permanent. We are here to help you feel empowered, strong and embrace your post-pregnancy body, whilst supporting your health and fitness goals.

You will undergo an in-depth movement screen, be assessed for diastasis recti and discuss any physical or mental symptoms you have experienced post-pregnancy and birth, whether you are breastfeeding, suffering from a lack of sleep, all allowing Tanya to tailor your sessions to you personally so you get the best from them and that they are conducted in an understanding and positive way.
